hey everyone! im typing to you from Greensboro, North Carolina, in the midddlle offff nowwhherreee!!!! Dont get me wrong now, i LOVE the country. im a country girl at heart and really have no problem adapting to my surroundings, but there is SOMETHING about North Carolina that i hate hahaha, it would just never be a place that i would sit and think "Hey! I Know! lets go to NORTH CAROLINA!" but you know me, ill go wherever the wind blows, and the winds have blown me south so that i could come and see my little cousin graduate from high school, so of COURSE i came. All ive really done since being here has gone skating..and eat barbecue. which im totally fine with:) I havent roller skated in YEEARS so it was refreshing to get back on wheels, and since ive realized what an amazing workout it is, youll probably catch me at the Roller rinks weekly, on Old School night of course. But im not here to talk about North Carolina, but ATLANTA!!!!

As much as i despise LIVING in ATL, i loooove a good visit. I spent the week with my beloveds Georgi and Ambriah, stayed with Alphonzo, hung out with Patrick, fell back in love with Julian, visited my brother Byron, and remembered to find myself in the process. It was amazing, and even though my poor camera is STILL out of commission, i always manage to get a new one ofor my birthday! so we'll see how that goes:) But i just wanted to show you a few shots of my travels, the Summer 2009 World Tour continues! *sssssssssttttttttrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeetch* yawn...oh! hey! how you been? :) i missed you..seriously i did. im FINALLY back all, i know i was gone for almost two weeks but, duty (i.e. spring break) called, and i took a break from quite litrally (i spelled it like that on purpose cus thats how i sound when i say it) everything and got myself to gether. i got some good news, some bad news, some okay news, and even lovelier, sommore good news. so all in all, my spring break was pretty boss. I got time to figure out exactly what it is that I want to not only do with my blog, but to do with my life. Do you think its lame I came up with a mission state for Ride Sally Ride? LOL...its mission is to "Peek into the lives of the average boy and girl, and to learn their passions and personalities. Ride Sally Ride is a showcase of the everyday adventures of a woman on a life-long journey, and the people and places that she discovers along the way." Im really proud of how far along the bloggy has come i really hope to develop it as an anthropological website at its finest, but also at its simplest. You'll never find an ad on here telling you to visit a website to buy something, however you will find people who you never imagined actually existed, and luckily for me, a lot of these people happen to be my friends. When i came up with the concept of RSR, it was originally going to be a fashion blog and one about my own personal life but when you think about it..a. how many fashion blogs already exist and b.who the heck wants to read about ME all day? i think its kindve vain and you get a little tired reading about my ups and downs often...and then people get tired of reading..etc etc. so i thought.."hey..why not feature all the awesome people i know, but still give a little of myself as well?" People were often asking me why i didnt have a blog and for a while it was because i ddint really have things to to blog about, and then, the name Mustang Sally came about. My dad had said something about it one day, calinng me "Short Small" instead of "Long Tall" and i thought it was funny, this was also about the same time i moved home so it was definitely time for something fresh. So i took Mustang Sally and absolutely ran with it, its even funnier how now when people see me that typically call me "Mustang" or "Sally" and i like it, its not a Sasha Fierce in a sense where shes a totally different person, its just me, going by a different, and cleverer name. Im not sure why i felt the need to share all of this with you but i think its becuase im making up for lost time last week, and a lot certainly did happen, but the worst being that i LOST MY MEMORY STICK FOR MY CAMERA...AHHH!!!! Who am i without my life capturer? *sigh* looks like ill have to cowboy up and buy a new one, not a big deal but, its pretty annoying. In other news, i am so very pleased to announce that on July 14, 2009, RIDESALLYRIDE WILL BE GOING INTERNATIONAL!!!! YEP! God is allowing me to expany my horizons and to reach a milestone for RSR. I'll be in Haiti from July 14th-28th on a missions trip, and i plan on bringing the blog right along with me, im sooo ridiculously excited because after Haiti i'll be on my way to....MOZAMBIQUE...thats right, the MOTHERLAND snitches!!! im so excited, like..cant breathe excited, and i shall keep you all posted on how passport, shots, etc etc goes. but i cannottt wait, to take pictures, talk with, talk about, and experience the Caribbean. Its going to be the ultimate...but enough about me..lets get back to you...whats up NEXT?

oooooooooooooooooooomg. guys.
guys guys guys. Im sorry. i know last week was supposed to be five of my favorite guys BUUUUUT...i got caught up in the reverie of spring break. and i completely forgot on friday...hahaha SO SO SO much has gone on, this past weekend was pureee isnanity, and im so grateful for the complete and utter madness of it all!!! My dad got us a dog on friday, a lil shih tzu puppy..hes super cute now but is probably gonna get uglier as he gets older and his hair gets longer lol. but i have named him Cato (everyone else calls him buster for some reason) aaaand i pretty much love him..except for the fact that he poops every where. but whatver, im not giving excuses...just REASONS for my absence. ha. So friday was insane..didnt even do a drive in good GRIEF im slipping..but saturday also had me on turbo running around, getting ready for my baptism on sunday, grocery shopping, blah blah blah ALL the boring details i know you dotn want to hear so im not going to go into a schpiel about it. buuuuut sunday was all the amazing, heart and sole had this meet n greet at their boutique for a rapper from G.O.O.D. so britt, manno, and i decided to take the drive up to see waht the hype was about..while the crowd was not really anything id like to hang around longer than an hour( there was very little personality in the room..everybody was TOO COOL to speak) we DID get to meet the guy who we had come to see in the first place...all unbeknowest to me. we had tucked away in a corner and were chatting amongst ourselves when this random(and fine) fella came and shook all our hands and slummed it with us for a minute. i had know idea who he was, i noticed a.his jesus piece and commented and laughed about it b.his adorable height..no more than like..5'7 and c. these RIDICULOUS rings he had on..being the coquettish young lady that i am, i politely pulled one off his finger and took a picture with him, it was cool, we proceeded to chat it up, i told him about the blog, gave him the link and THEN asked him his name..."Sean" and i was like..oh okay, and simply moved on. Upon coming back to the posse they were like..."Sal...that was def Big Sean, the rapper we came to see"...Lord, Lord...why must i be so dense? But he was super cool about it, gave me a hug, signed my juice box, etc etc so. all in all it was a good day. all i have to show for it right now though are a few pictures from The Coventry Kids blog that Roderick took, Britt was the only one with a camera so hopefully she can be a G and send me those so i can post them later on..Sorry this was soooooo long but, i had to get that out there..i thought it was funny, sooo real shout outs to Big Sean, thanks for signing my juicy juice box, i know it was hella random but...thats just me:)

weeeeelcome to monday. im sooooo siked about this week, im puttin on FIVE OF MY..FAVORITE GUYS. AND my spring break officially begins on THURSDAY...better yet..WEDNESDAY AT 3:15!!!!. thank GOODNESS. because im starting to lose my mind, and i definitely need a break. in other good news, i got stopped at the shops the other day and offered a job doing make-up..bigggg ups to phylicia for introducing me to her boss, and i, before knowing who she was, called her a mermaid..more specifically, the little mermaid, ariel. ha! but she didnt seem to mind, she gave me a really cool bestey johnson-ish vibe and also loved the way i did my face and offered me a position SO..we shall see how that goes...hopefully somewhere, i need another fun job in my life :) buuuut. let me get to the reason for today post, since RSR is CLEARLY about you all, and never me(smiley face) this week is called "Five of My...Favorite Guys". Ill be featuring five of my alltime favorites, in personal miniviews, cab confessionals, pics, etc..so somewhat like spring fling week but not really about the fashion, but more about the person. Today's guy is JULIAN E. STREETE ( i DID take it there with the government, but im sure he wont mind) sooo lets get to it:)

What an AMAZING week this has been, I got ballet tickets and twizzlers on monday AND had a make-up party with part one of the bobsey twins, tuesday I got to update my mad decent radio poodcasts FINALLY, and I managed to get food poisoning from the chinese restaurant down in the plaza(I should've known better though, chinese ALWAYS sends me under) sooo wednesday I got some much needed sleeptime, and watched Avatar all day, (yet again, I could sworn I was an adult) yesterday I got to hang out with the homie W.K. at Revival, Square Records(where they have they bowls made out of old vinyl, if they had a Prince one you know I would've bought it) and then down at Canal Park...which was nice...until we saw a RAT the size of a football swimming in the water, needless to say I fell over laughing, that's only the kind of thing you'd see in a city like Akron, like this beautiful pure(kidding) stream, and like a kid, I thought it was a beaver and went in for a closer look and God goes..."JUST KIDDING! Its a rodent the size of master splinter" yessss. And now its friday...its raining but its 60 degrees outside so ill take it, but all in all, a really good week it was. Next week will FINALLLYYY begin the new season of Cab confessionals and I've got some really excellent people lined up, rappers, hipsters, popsters, and mobsters...just wait and see, its going to be [insert appropriate adjective here]. So as I'm sitting here watching the 5th graders play MASH (remember that stupid game?) on the chalkboard, I'm thinking of new adventures that need to be had, people to featured, music to be listened to, and most importantly food to eat.

oh man, even though this week went by in TURBO, its finally and officially friday which means that i have two days of peace and solitude to do whatever it is that want until monday morning at nine a.m. so basically what im sayin is...im gonna be up all night, cuz i dont have to work tomorrowwww! but anyway lets get right down to it. today is the final day of spring fling week and i feel like ive been saving the best for last! Today's feature is on my friend Ramon Bentley. Ive known him since iwas a freshman in college and his name was 'Ric' :). He started off as a mentor but became a friend, and one now who i certainly value and respect. he introduced me to fashion show production and more importantly, papi's cuban rastuarant downtown. Not only is he a men's fashion guru, but also a food and wine connoissuer, im lucky to know a guy a like him, so sit back and enjoy his feature because its the only thing you'll see for the rest of the weekend.

Brains, (shoutout whitney young) Beauty, (obviously) and Brauns,(you dont know this but ive SEEN her throw bows and pull hair...!) and even more luckily for me, i have the privelige to clal her a friend. so when i asked her to do the blog, i knew she would accept and come through for me, and with her concept of complex minimalism mixed with urban classics, shes a girl that you really cant afford to miss...

hey lambs, starting out the first full week of spring is my cousin/bestfriend Emmanuel J. LeGrair. Ive known manny for years and when i tapped him to be feature first for spring fling week, he (reluctantly) accepted. While he doesnt think he's the best dressed, i'd have to disagree, for a gentleman his size, he has EXCELLENT taste, and that's crucial, everyone has a different body type and everyone should know how to dress themself with what looks best on them, and emmanuel is a man who knows what the good things in life are. we may not have a lot of money, but we make due with what we have, and he always does a fantastic job no matter what it is:)

i just wanted to give you guys a taste of what's in store for the week, so i decided to do my own version of what my 6 friends will be doing for the rest of the week.

you WILL be seeing me...
..in dresses. long, short, tight, loose, flowy, urban, classic, vintage, you name it, i got it.
..in lighter cardigans. Cotton, light-weight wools, etc..
..in bold colors, especially greens, blues, and violets. Pastels will always be the color theme for spring so im mixing it up this year and doing a non-traditional, subtle-summer palette
..in shorts, contrary to popular belief, i LOVE shorts. knee length and other-wise. Especially homemade cutoffs, there a staple for me ALWAYS.
..in striped shirts. i love nautical themes so thats definitely something im going for this spring, lets call it..Urban Connecticut Nautical.
..in vans, lace ups and slip ons, my traditional sneaker of choice for all seasons
..wearing vintage necklaces, bracelets, and rings from my mommys jewelry box
..with wayfarer sunglasses, never leave home without them
..in men's dress shoes...especially wallabees
